Ann Bennett was raised in Tottenham and began music lessons at the age of four.  At the age of eight she gained a place at the Royal College of Music Junior Department where she studied piano, organ, violin, viola and composition as well as singing in the choirs and playing in the orchestras.

She was appointed Assistant Director of Music at St Ignatius Church, Tottenham at the age of fifteen, where she had previously sung in the choir.  She continued her musical education at Cambridge where she was organ scholar of Girton College, and enjoyed directing and accompanying the college choir in weekly services and on tour in Japan, Switzerland and Ireland as well as at several of England’s great cathedrals.  After graduation, she moved back to Tottenham and accepted the position of Organist and Choir Director at St George’s Church, Walthamstow and, in 2002, was appointed Director of Music at St Ignatius Church, Tottenham.

Her responsibilities there include training and directing the Junior, Youth and Parish Choirs and accompanying the choirs and congregation on the church’s impressive organ and piano.
