I want to sing with you. How do I join?
Fill out our enquiry form and we will be in touch to answer any questions and invite you to the next suitable rehearsal. We primarily accept new choristers in the first 2 weeks of the Autumn and Winter terms (September, January), but if you don’t want to wait we can discuss options for you, so don’t hesitate to get in touch mid-term.
Where and when do you rehearse?
Rehearsals are every Tuesday evening 7.30-9.30pm at Earlsmead Primary School, Broad Lane, N15 4PW (a few minutes’ walk from Seven Sisters Station) with breaks at local term times for Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays.
Do I need to audition?
No, but we will do an assessment of your voice and skills when you first come to sing with us – we promise it’s not scary! Our MD and/or AMD sit down with all new members to assess your skills, make sure you’re singing the correct part for your voice and to ensure we’re a good fit for you (and vice versa). It doesn’t take very long, you don’t need to learn anything in advance and you’ll get more info when you make a new joiner enquiry. It’s also free!
Do I need to be able to read music?
Not necessarily, but it’s helpful if you have some understanding of it, as we learn at pace and choristers are expected to learn fast and practice independently between rehearsals. Previous choral or instrumental experience is helpful but not essential.
What’s the NTS repertoire like?
Our focus is primarily on classical music, but we like to mix things up a bit, and have done a wide range of jazz, musical theatre and even the odd pop classic.
How much does it cost to join?
The first two rehearsals of term are FREE for new joiners so you’ve got nothing to risk by coming and trying out. Once you’ve decided to commit, our monthly term fee is £95 (£87 concessions), which covers all rehearsals, led by our highly experienced professional Musical Director and Assistant Musical Director, plus refreshments at break times. The fee also covers our Amateur Group Singing Licence, which all amateur musical organisations require to distribute and share music with their choristers.
That works out at about £5.93 per rehearsal – an absolute bargain!

I’m tone deaf/live on the other side of the world/don’t actually like music but want to help out – what can I do?
NTS work hard to keep fees and concerts affordable and accessible for all. All donations will be used solely to support the work of New Tottenham Singers, a not-for-profit organisation. All our concerts have the option to make a donation in lieu of a ticket if you’d like to support us (amateur musical organisations like us need all the help we can get!).
You can also support the choir by signing up to Easy Fundraising (it’s free) and choosing New Tottenham Singers as your chosen cause for donations.
