The choir performing the Mozart Requiem in April 2014

The choir has over sixty singers rehearsing each week and the main focus in rehearsals is preparation for performances. These performances can take the form of concerts and appearances in festivals and other events in the local community.

The choir is directed by Tottenham resident, Tom Fowkes. Tom is responsible for training the choir and selecting its repertoire. Ann Carey acts as Assistant Musical Director. She assists Tom by helping him to select the repertoire, taking sectionals and accompanying the choir in rehearsals and performances. The choir is fortunate to have many supportive members who help with other tasks involved in the day-to-day running of the choir.

We aim to provide an enjoyable and rewarding rehearsal which nurtures and develops talent in addition to providing a unified, inclusive and vibrant social experience.

The New Tottenham Singers are always happy to welcome new members of any age or musical experience.

New members can join us at any time.

We rehearse at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Tottenham, London N15 4RX from 7.30pm – 9.30pm on Tuesdays.

Nearest tube station: Seven Sisters

Buses: 149, 259, 243, 476, 230, 123, 41, 341

Choir members pay £45 per term (or £25 for students and those on state benefits).  However, new members pay just £3 (£1 concessions) for their first two sessions. Once you have joined the choir, it is expected that you do your best to attend all rehearsals. As a general rule, choir members should try not miss any more than two Tuesday rehearsals each term. The choir’s success thus far has been due to the hard work and dedication of its members and we wish this to continue as our numbers grow.
